Camp themes & Descriptions:
* Camp Wild: How are the animals at Blank Park Zoo similar to or different from our pets at home? This week, campers will learn about how the Zoo provides care to our favorite animal friends and how we can help the animals in our homes and in our neighborhood.
* Animals in Histories: Let's explore where science and storytelling intertwine. This week, campers will explore how real animal behaviors and adaptations inspired myths, legends, and folklore across cultures.
* Animal Superheroes: Some animals are capable of things beyond our imagination. What if you could hold your breath for an hour underwater like an alligator or jump 150 times your body length like a flea?! This week we will explore and compare some amazing adaptations of the animal world and how these features and behaviors can be crucial for survival in the wild.
While the overarching camp themes are the same for all ages groups each week, age groups are designated so that camp instructors can tailor camp activities and learning opportunities that are developmentally appropriate for children of specified ages.
