Overview
The Great Basin Outdoor School promotes the outdoors as the best place for students to investigate nature sciences.
Day camps are held during the school year at West Reno’s River School Farm and Mayberry Park for elementary and first-year middle school students. During these camps, kids delve into different daily science topics through experiments, crafts, and games.
Four-day overnight spring/fall camps and 3-day overnight winter camps offer kids the chance to study nature sciences like geology, astronomy, and ecology at beautiful Camp Galilee on Lake Tahoe’s eastern shore.
At the outdoor camp, your child will have a ball hiking, playing games, watching the stars, and singing while learning new skills. GBOS has an exceptional staff that oversees activities and chaperones the separate girls’ and boys’ cabins. Home-cooked meals and attention to each camper round out this popular program.
