Residential Camp

Overview

The Randall Museum offers a variety of fun and engaging summer day camp experiences with emphasis on hands-on-learning, curiosity and creativity. Each 2-week session will include 2 specific classes taught by Randall Instructors, and up to 2 hours per day of supervised play and social time within the larger group. Classes may include: Science & Nature, Theater, Arts & Crafts, Woodworking, Ceramics, Cooking, Tennis, and New Technologies.

Session 1 — Gear Up! 3D Things That Move — Location: Fab Lab. Build fantastic machines, sculptures or creatures that move! Explore how to use motors and gears to make kinetic objects. Use 3D design software to print gear systems that will actuate moving parts. Use basic electronic circuitry to power motors, and a laser cutter to make new parts. With a focus on kinetic systems and creative play, we'll make crazy things that move!

Afternoon Class — Randall Rebuild & Research Lab — Location: Art Room. Let's become real field scientists, with recycled and repurposed materials as our scientific tools! We'll build equipment for observing wildlife, sampling habitats, and recording real data as we investigate how plants, animals, and ecosystems are connected, whether outdoors in the field or up close with our live animal ambassadors.
